The countdown to Frostpunk 2’s launch is on, with players excited and ready to start rebuilding their settlements in the frosty wastelands.

Frostpunk 2 introduces major changes to how you build a city in the frozen wasteland and manage your people. From larger cities and multiple new factions to civilized councils that can act on their own, there’s a lot to explore and account for.

If that got you excited, here’s everything you need to know about the Frostpunk 2 release, including the date, time, and how you can access the game a little bit early.

When does Frostpunk 2 release?

Frostpunk 2 releases Sept. 20, 2024, on PC and PC Game Pass, following a delay from its original July 25 release date. The survival title’s dates for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are yet to be announced, but we know it’s going to arrive on consoles at a later date than PC.

Developer 11 Bit Studios hasn’t locked in a concrete release time yet, but it’s likely Frostpunk 2 will roll out from midnight on Sept. 20 across all regions once it finally arrives. Typically, developers stagger the release times across the different regions, however, as there’s no indication of this for Frostpunk 2 on any platforms like Steam, this staggered approach may not occur.

For now, we’ve set the countdown below for 12am CT on Sept. 20. If anything changes, we’ll make sure to update this article.

Keep in mind that if you pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Frostpunk 2, you can get exclusive access to the story mode 72 hours before the official release. This way, you can experience the long-awaited city-builder a little bit early. On top of that, the Deluxe Edition includes three paid post-game DLCs and a few digital collectibles.
