With LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival, there’s more to the game these days than just the classic battle royale. These new additions come at a cost to your hard drive space, making the game bigger and bigger.

Here’s how big Fortnite is on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Fortnite is available on the Epic Games Store on PC and is available on both Windows 10 and 11. Personally, I have the game installed on a Windows 10 PC, and when I check the install, it says that Fortnite takes up 62.90 GB on my hard drive.

There are ways to bring the file size down, specifically by turning off Cosmetic Streaming, and not downloading the High-Resolution Textures. This can save you over 30 GB of space but will lower the quality of your game.

Unfortunately for players, Fortnite Chapter Five, season two has increased the file size on all platforms, with the Xbox Series X and S version of the game now requiring around 65.2 GB of free space.

It doesn’t get any better if you’re primarily a Sony console user as Fortnite on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 clocks in at 72.2 GB, which is going to take up a big chunk of space on your SSD.

How many GB is Fortnite on Nintendo Switch?

The Nintendo Switch is notable for not being a powerful console, which makes sense considering its compact, handheld design. Therefore, it’s also logical that its games are smaller in size, and Fortnite offers a tight package for Nintendo Switch users at 17.4 GB, which feels minuscule when compared to PC, Xbox, or PS5. Keep in mind that the Switch version of the game is downgraded graphically to provide a smoother experience and may not have all the goodies introduced with Fortnite’s latest graphical upgrades.
