Conduit is the season 19 character in Apex Legends, and brings a titan battery-charged ability kit perfectly fit to support her teammates in the heat of battle.
First teased on Oct. 18, savvy fans clued into her Filipino ethnicity, and potential ties with the Titanfall universe. Conduit’s Stories from the Outlands episode focused in on her family roots, and how she sacrificed her own health and safety to create her legend outfit and armor, inspired by a Monarch Titan who previously saved her home planet.
But how does she differ from her fellow shield-generating legend Wattson? We have all the answers below.
All Apex Legends Conduit character abilities
Conduit’s official ability kit was revealed on Oct. 26 with the season 19 gameplay trailer, alongside her bio on the EA website.
Passive: Savior’s Speed
- Gain a burst of speed when running towards a teammate out of tactical range.
Conduit’s passive ability grants her a speed boost whenever she is out of range to affect either of her teammates with her tactical abilities. This speed boost is akin to Octane’s Stim, and is a bit quicker than Bangalor’s Double Time passive.
This ability works exactly like Double Time, with the same indicator showing up in the middle of Conduit’s HUD whenever it is active. This alert allows players to make the snap decision mid-fight if they should push for a flank with the speed boost, or fall back to defend their weakened allies.
One important note to Savior’s Speed is that the range of the ability is unlimited, and can even trigger if Conduit is on opposite ends of the map from her team. This effect can allow Conduit to catch up to high mobility legends like Pathfinder or Revenant and support their offensive pushes, or even run away from fights if its too late, falling back on her Support passive to respawn her teammates.
Tactical (Q): Radiant Transfer
- Send a surge of energy to a teammate, generating temporary shields for them and Conduit when in danger.
Conduit’s tactical is one of the most powerful tactical abilities in the game, offering a temporary burst heal to her and a teammate with the press of a button.
When Conduit uses her tactical, she temporarily recharges her and an ally’s current missing shields to full, which has the potential to heal an empty red shield back to its full 125 value. Radiant Transfer’s heal only heals the empty shield value, and a player with full shields will be completely unaffected by the tactical ability. If players take damage while their temporary shields are charging, the charge will stop.
Radiant Transfer’s shields work on a time limit, and once the timer reaches zero, the shields will start to decay, but Conduit can re-cast her tactical when it comes off cooldown to restart the timer and recharge the shields for anyone in range.
Ultimate: Energy Barricade
- Deploy an array of shield jamming devices which damage and slow enemies.
Conduit’s ultimate has her shooting out a barrage of long-range batteries, similar to Fuse’s Motherload, which arm after reaching their destination. These batteries create a link of electricity that deal 10 damage, slow, and shock enemies like an arc star or Wattson’s Perimeter Security fences. Enemies caught in the ultimate can shoot the batteries directly to destroy them and disable the electric link, and each battery has 250 health.
Conduit’s Stories from the Outlands episode, released on Oct. 19, finally confirmed her backstory, and how she got her powers. After witnessing a Monarch Titan save her homeworld of Nexus during her childhood, Conduit decided to sacrifice her future health by drawing upon the titan battery’s powers to create her legend armor, at the cost of the radiation slowly killing her.
Conduit will be playable when Ignite drops on Oct. 23, which will feature the exclusive skins for the Season 19 battle pass, and additional new features, such as the long awaited Storm Point map changes and Wattson town takeover.
