PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has surpassed 20 million copies sold, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene announced today. Considering the game is only available on PC at the moment, has yet to leave early access, and only came out at the end of March, this sales number is very impressive.
Greene also offered a message to players who may be frustrated or upset with the current state of the game—developer PUBG Corp recently had to postpone the highly-anticipated vaulting and climbing update due to an unknown issue. “I know a lot of you are frustrated by issues w/ the game but the team is working hard to deliver a truly great Battle Royale expierence for everyone,” Greene said. “Bear with us, change is coming!” The developer also issued a formal apology to its community about the frequency of cheaters and hackers in the game, and has pledged to take control of the situation with further actions being planned. PUBG’s sales should get a boost on Dec. 12 when the game launches on the Xbox One, marking the first time the game will be playable on console.
