PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is making its way to the Xbox One this holiday season, the developers confirmed today at Paris Games Week. Dec. 12 is the day that PUBG will enter the Xbox Game Preview program for $29.99. The game will launch with a lot of the same features as the PC version.
Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene was on hand to help deliver the announcement on a special Xbox livestream, where he confirmed that PUBG would be an Xbox One X enhanced title. The game will launch with HDR support, and 4K textures will also be coming at a later date. The game’s new desert map will also come to Xbox at a later date, once it has been thoroughly tested on the PC. Gameplay-wise, PUBG will launch on Xbox One with third-person Solo, Duo, and Squads games, as well as the incoming vaulting and climbing gameplay feature, which is set to hit the game’s PC test servers this week. The month of November will be big for PUBG, as a number of changes and additions will be tested on the game’s test servers, including a number of optimizations and bug fixes, the vaulting and climbing mechanics, and the new desert map. The livestream also confirmed that PUBG has sold 18 million copies on the PC in just seven months since it entered Steam early access at the end of March. Those sales numbers will undoubtedly climb even further this December.
