Developer HoYoverse promised 100 free pulls and 80 free Boopons in Zenless Zone Zero to celebrate the launch, but they’re not all available immediately. We’ll guide you through the process so you don’t miss out, so here’s how to claim 180 free pulls in ZZZ.

You can’t obtain your 100 free pulls and 80 free Boopons immediately. Instead, you must play Zenless Zone Zero for some time to unlock several features and get all the free goodies. Some pulls come from events, while others await you in the mail.

Here’s a complete breakdown of how to get 100 free pulls and 80 Boopons in Zenless Zone Zero:

  • Pre-registration rewards: 20 Master Tapes and five Boopons
  • Cunning Generosity event: 10 Master Tapes
  • New City Visitor’s Passport daily login event: 10 Encrypted Master Tapes
  • Sixth Street Giveaway daily login event: 10 Encrypted Master Tapes
  • “En-Nah” Into Your Lap daily login event: 10 Boopons
  • Road to Proxy Greatness level-up rewards: 40 Master Tapes, 1,600 Polychrome, and 65 Boopons (split between milestones)

To claim your 180 free pulls in ZZZ, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the tutorial to unlock the Mailbox feature.
  2. Hit the menu button and open your Mailbox.
  3. Claim the pre-registration awards in your Mailbox.
  4. Progress to Inter-Knot level eight to unlock events.
  5. Complete events to claim rewards.

Your pre-registration rewards arrive almost immediately through in-game mail, but the events require playtime to unlock. Follow the main missions until around Inter-Knot level eight, which takes a few hours. Keep in mind certain events are time-limited. For example, the Sixth Street Giveaway daily login event starts on July 11 and lasts until Aug. 13.

Out of the 180 pulls you can earn, 70 of them are Master Tapes (standard banner pulls), 20 are Encrypted Master Tapes (event banner pulls), 1,600 Polychrome (currency to buy Tapes), and 80 Boopons. The Boopons are pulls for Bangboos. You can only spend them on the dedicated banner, and you can’t buy them for Polychrome.

The majority of these free pulls come from increasing your Inter-Knot level, which is ZZZ’s version of Adventure Rank from Genshin Impact or Trailblaze Level from Honkai: Star Rail. Rewards await you at levels five, 15, 20, 25, and 30. You can reach the first few milestones fairly quickly, but the rest require much more grinding. While you work on this task, you can keep an eye out for any ZZZ codes so you can grab some extra goodies.

How to use free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero

Your free pulls function just like regular pulls in ZZZ, which means you must unlock the gacha banner system and visit the banner page to spend them. There are at least four different banners you can pull from, including the two limited banners that rotate and two permanent banners that stay the same.

How to spend your 180 free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero

It’s worth spending your free pulls on the Featured Agent banner to get the S-Rank character that’s featured. Thanks to the pity system, you’re guaranteed an S-Rank agent within 90 pulls, although there’s a 50/50 chance it won’t be the one you wanted.

Focus on the featured S-Rank character because these are the best units you can get. S-Rank characters who run on limited-time featured banners have the most powerful abilities overall, meaning you want to get one in your team as soon as possible. It’s also worth considering which S-Rank agent to choose for 300 pulls so you don’t spend your free pulls trying to get one.

If the gacha game grants you immense luck and you get the featured S-Rank early, you should consider spending the rest of your pulls on their featured W-Engine banner next. The item on this banner is always the signature weapon of the featured character.

You can also consider saving your free pulls if there’s a future character you want instead. ZZZ gets a new banner every three weeks, so it’s always a good idea to make sure you’re pulling for the character you want the most.

After you get the character you want, you can spend 80 Boopons on the Bangboo banner. Every Bangboo is tailored for a specific team composition, so only get it after you know who’s on your main team. For example, Resonaboo is ideal for Ether-based teams with characters like Zhu Yuan. This banner guarantees the Bangboo of your choice, so select the one you need and spend those Boopons.
