VALORANT is one of the best tactical FPS games, all thanks to Riot Games’ efforts to keep the content fresh and engaging. While it wasn’t as demanding of a game initially, its space and system requirements have substantially grown since its release.
If you’re looking to download and install VALORANT on your PC and wonder how big it is in 2024, here’s the answer.
How many GB is VALORANT?
At the time of writing, VALORANT has an install size of 46.2 GB. Considering this, I’d keep at least 55 GB of free disk space for the game. I recommend not stuffing your storage because it might affect your in-game performance.
Once you create a new Riot account or sign into one, the prompt to download VALORANT should appear bright and clear on your browser. But before you click on download, make sure you have enough space to accommodate the game.
When you click on the Install option, you should see an install package for around 450 MB running before taking you to the sign-in page. The game, alongside Riot Vanguard, will install in the background. It will take some time, so be patient. Once installed, restart your PC before you can begin playing VALORANT.
How big are VALORANT updates?
VALORANT updates usually take another three to five GB of your space. While regular updates normally take up to three GB, bigger patches, like the ones introducing new agents, are on the bigger side. I always leave up to 10 GB on my device for VALORANT patches.
If your PC can’t handle this, you can uninstall the game.
VALORANT system requirements in 2024
Unlike space, VALORANT’s system requirements have evolved little to none with time. That’s at least what the official Riot website has to say. But there have been significant changes for sure. The game no longer runs on older Windows versions, like Windows 7 and 8.
Here is the full list of VALORANT’s official system requirements.
VALORANT minimum system requirements (30 FPS)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 / AMD Athlon 200GE
RAM: 4 GB
VRAM: 1 GB
OS: Windows: 10 (Version 2004 / Build 19041 or higher) or 11 64-bit
GPU: Intel HD 4000 / Radeon R5 200
VALORANT recommended system specs (60 FPS)
CPU: Core i3-4150 / Ryzen 3 1200
RAM: 4 GB
VRAM: 1 GB
OS: Windows: 10 (Version 2004 / Build 19041 or higher) or 11 64-bit
GPU: GeForce GT 730 / Radeon R7 240
VALORANT high-end system requirements (144 FPS)
CPU: Intel i5 9400F / AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
RAM: 4 GB
VRAM: 1 GB
OS: Windows: 10 (Version 2004 / Build 19041 or higher) or 11 64-bit
GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti / Radeon R7 370
VALORANT is a competitive shooter, so we recommend a high frame output over graphical performance. Even with the specs mentioned under high-end requirements, considering all constraints, your PC might find it hard to offer stable client FPS.
If you’re looking for the best experience in VALORANT and are currently building a PC for it, it could be worth aiming for specs higher than the high-end specs mentioned by Riot. Focus more on CPU and system RAM because the game is more CPU and memory-driven than GPU.
If VALORANT doesn’t open or you get stuck on the loading screen, you can fix that that easily.
