The First Descendant recently received a mid-season content update, and now, season one is rapidly approaching. The game’s first huge content update is packed with new additions, including new Descendants, Ultimate weapons, seasonal content, new progression, and more.
Here’s everything coming to The First Descendant in season one.
Everything included in The First Descendant season 1
New Descendants
Season one is adding two Descendants. Hailey is a new Chill sniper character who eliminates enemies with a single shot and comes with an “anti-material sniper rifle, sub-zero bullets, and a storm snare.” Freyna is also getting an upgrade, in the form of Ultimate Freyna. Her new toxic look comes alongside the Descendant Story quest, just like we saw with Bunny when The First Descendant launched.
New Ultimate weapons
Excava and Frost Watcher are the two new Ultimate weapons in this update. Excava is available from the battle pass and combines the versatility of an assault rifle with a powerful charged shot you charge by attacking enemies.
Frost Watcher is a scout rifle you can earn from seasonal content. The weapon reduces the enemy’s Chill resistance and enhances the damage of your Chill skills, making it perfect for the new Descendant on the roster, Hailey, or even Viessa.
Seasonal power scaling
Inversion Reinforcement is a new seasonal power scaling tied to the Ironheart. You can unlock new potential and abilities in different areas using Inversion Reinforcement to grow stronger throughout the season.
The feature allows you to unlock new powers of different types: Hunt, Attribute, Recovery, Survival, and Season. Those powers include stat increases, buffs, passives, attribute resistances, and more.
The feature works very similar to the seasonal artifact in Destiny 2. Each season, the powers and effects will be tailored to seasonal content.
Invasion Dungeons
Invasion Dungeons are a new activity randomly appearing in two Infiltration Operations on Hard difficulty. These dungeons are only available for solo play and task you with clearing enemies as fast as possible.
There are new mechanics, including encryption devices you have to unlock by standing on plates, resonance shatterers you have to deal with, and more. The faster you get the mission done, the better the rewards you can get, including Hailey’s research components.
Death Stalker
Death Stalker is by far the most powerful Colossus, so expect it to be even more challenging than the Gluttony. Death Stalker emerges from the shadows and “unleashes attacks laced with venom and horror.”
All this and more additions, including a highest-difficulty Infiltration Operations and a mysterious trade agent that sells hard-to-get items, are coming to The First Descendant in season one.

Not all of the content mentioned above will be available when season one launches on Aug. 29. The seasonal content is split into two updates delivered over the course of the next months, so if you want to get your hands on Ultimate Freyna, you might have to wait a bit longer.
