Free-to-play looter shooter The First Descendant has enjoyed a successful launch, but it’s merely a drop in the water for developer Nexon, which has teased what is to come in the months ahead with a full roadmap.
Soon after launching on July 2, Nexon shared The First Descendant‘s roadmap for the remainder of 2024 and highlighted everything players can look forward to—and we’ve got a full breakdown below.
The First Descendant roadmap
The first major content update for The First Descendant was due to arrive on August 1 but was brought forward to July 31. The major introductions were a new Descendant, Luna, a new Ultimate Descendant, Ultimate Valby, and a new Colossus, Gluttony.
This update gave fans an insight into what to expect in future updates, and we already know when we can expect the launches of the first two seasons. We also know each season will include three updates.
The First Descendant season one: Invasion
Season one of The First Descendant is slated for Aug. 23, as revealed by the pre-season battle pass. The season episode is titled Invasion.
Dropping just a few weeks after the July 31 update, season one introduces a yet-to-be-revealed Descendant and a new Descendant story. Details on the Descendant story are also unknown but we have an idea of what to expect from the Bunny Descendant story.
A new Ultimate Descendant is also being added in season one, alongside a new Colossus, new weapons, new skins, and a new dungeon. Season Progression and Field Completion will also be introduced, though details are scarce.
The First Descendant season two: Ancestor
Season two of The First Descendant is due to start in early December. A confirmed release date is expected with the launch of season one, with the new battle pass revealing the end date.
The second season follows a similar pattern to the first in The First Descendant, with a new Descendant, Ultimate Descendant, weapons, skins, and a new Descendant story. There could also be further surprises.
Utility Companions and a new Mega Dungeon will also arrive in season two, though details on both features are yet to be revealed.
