Fast to react, as always.

Season one of The First Descendant had a rough start as many players have found new Invasion Dungeons and farming for the new character Hailey frustrating. In response, Nexon is already preparing fixes and improvements.

In a developer note on Aug. 30, the director of The First Descendant, Minseok Joo, acknowledged player feedback to season one content and outlined plans to address it. The earliest change affects Hailey‘s material drop rates. After the Hotfix 1.1.0b planned for this Saturday (Aug. 31), unlocking Hailey will be twice as fast.

Next Thursday, Sept. 5, we can expect changes to the Invasion Dungeons. “For Invasion Dungeons, to provide a faster and better experience, we will lower the difficulty of the puzzle mechanics and will modify the number of spawned monsters,” Joo wrote.

Mechanics for all three Invasion Dungeon types will be simplified, with Nexon implementing simplified patterns and easier-to-destroy tumors when fighting the Order of Truth and reduced tiles and removed Bombers when fighting the Legion of Darkness. The color tiles will also have symbols to make it easier for players with color blindness to enjoy the activity.

Alongside Invasion Dungeons, the seasonal Inversion Reinforcement system is getting changes, too. “To let everyone fully enjoy the Inversion Reinforcement system, we are planning to buff most of the effects and will delete the penalty,” Joo explained.

After the update, Nexon aims to implement a matchmaking system for Invasion Dungeons and is considering having focus group testing for future updates, allowing the developer to incorporate early feedback ahead of the content’s full release.
