Some Void Intercept Battles in The First Descendant have dedicated mechanics that require communication and coordination between you and your teammates. The latest The First Descendant patch simplifies the mechanics of one such boss, Frost Walker.

Hotfix 1.0.7 for The First Descendant came out on Aug. 13 and made slight changes to mechanics in the Frost Walker Void Intercept Battle to make it easier. Destroying Frenzied parts now creates two Embers, and the maximum Frenzied Gauge has also been increased, reducing the number of times Frost Walker can become Frenzied. If you’re using slug shots to attack Frost Walker while in its Frenzied state, its leg movements are also reduced, making it easier to target weak points.

Frost Walker is one of the few bosses in the game, alongside the Hanged Man, with a dedicated mechanic everyone on the team must know. These changes should make it easier for the runner of the boss fight to collect the Embers and ensure the team survives Frost Walker’s wipe attack.

Other changes in this Hotfix include several quality-of-life changes to Void Intercept Battles. You no longer receive damage from the hazardous area once the boss is defeated, allowing you to safely collect loot and interact with the Reconstructed Device. The same applies to boss effects, like Molten Fortress’s lava and Swamp Walker‘s Disease effect.

If you’ve been wanting to play Luna as a DPS, her Noise Surge Transcendent Module now drops from the Hard Executioner, too. This and improvements to the upcoming seasonal battle pass challenges should keep you busy while waiting for the launch of season one later this month.
