The First Descendant is out now, and if you logged into the game after playing the beta, you probably noticed all your progress is wiped, and you have to start fresh. If you’re wondering where all your loot is, I’ve got you covered.
Does beta progress carry over in The First Descendant?
No, your beta progress doesn’t carry over into the full release of The First Descendant. Everything you bought, unlocked, or were given during a beta test is limited to that testing period only.
The playtests are meant to showcase the game, so they often grant rewards and currency you’d usually buy for real money. This means all the free Caliber (premium currency) and pretty maid skins from the Technical Test will be gone from your account when you log in at launch.
The only rewards that carry over into the full release are the specific beta participation rewards during the testing period. These rewards include emotes and minor cosmetics, like the Bear-shaped Back Trophy. If you played in that and other tests, you’ll get the rewards via the Mailbox.
All beta tests with participation rewards in The First Descendant
Two beta tests had participation rewards: The Steam Beta Test in October 2022 and the Crossplay Open Beta Test in September 2023. Unfortunately, the latest Technical Test had no participation rewards you could’ve earned to keep. That test only lasted two days and was purely to identify any remaining technical issues with the game.
These rewards aren’t much, but on the upside, you had plenty of time to test out different Descendants, cosmetics, and even a Battle Pass for free, so now that the game is live, you can go directly for things you want and like. Keep in mind that there’s currently an issue with Caliber purchases, so if you try to spend cash on the game, you might not receive it straight away.
