Riot Games has designed a temporary PvE game mode for Teamfight Tactics called Tocker’s Trials, which is coming to the PBE servers today.
After five years, the TFT team has designed a PvE game mode for players who are seeking an alternative way to play. Tocker’s Trials will drop onto the PBE servers on Aug. 13 and is slated to go live through Patch 14.17 on Aug. 27. The game mode is temporary and will only run until Sept. 24, but that doesn’t mean it won’t return in the future. Many people in the community are excited about the potential Tocker’s Trials has, especially from a teaching standpoint. And others are ready to tackle a Chaos mode option.
Core gameplay from TFT Set 12 remains the same in Tocker’s Trials, minus Charms. Life totals are slightly different and there are no timers, which is why content creators like Frodan feel the temporary mode has “tons of potential for fun and teaching people the game.” Here’s what you can expect from Tocker’s Trials, according to Riot.
- Play for 30 rounds against six bosses with only three lives.
- Take your time as there are no timers and you get to choose when you’re ready to battle.
- Earn points for a total high score while progressing through the 30 possible rounds.
- Play Chaos mode if normal Tocker’s Trials mode becomes boring.
Improving play and learning more about TFT is great for many, but others are more interested in the Mayhem part of Magic n’ Mayhem, which is why Tocker’s Trials also has a Chaos mode. Riot didn’t release any Chaos mode details but players can test it out soon through the PBE servers.
The new TFT PvE Tocker’s Trials mode will be available to play on the PBE servers today and will officially drop on Aug. 27 through Patch 14.17. TFT Patch 14.16 is set to go live tomorrow, Aug. 14.
