The third premium DLC coming to Remnant 2 has been announced by developer Gunfire Games, and will see players embarking deeper into N’Erud. The third expansion, The Dark Horizon, will releases on Sept. 24, but we have a precise release date countdown so you know when you can jump in.
Not only will players get the chance to launch into The Dark Horizon on Sept. 24, but Gunfire Games also shared that there will be a free update to Remnant 2 with a Boss Rush mode. This update is free to all players, regardless of whether they’ve purchased any precious DLC packs, and it comes out on the same day as The Dark Horizon. Here’s what you need to know about the start time and release date for Remnant 2’s The Dark Horizon expansion and Boss Rush free update.
When does The Dark Horizon release in Remnant 2?
We can confirm that The Dark Horizon expansion is coming out on Sept. 24. It is available to all Remnant 2 players who have access to the Ultimate bundle of the game when it first launched or purchase it individually. Similar to the previous expansions, we expect The Dark Horizon to launch globally at 11am CT on Sept. 24. It’s in the middle of the day for many people, so expect to play it when you return home.
The Dark Horizon features an expanded area and story set in the N’Erud world, and after completing it once, Remnant 2 players can expect to see this new expansion appear in other runs, similar to The Forgotten Kingdom and The Awakened King.
In The Dark Horizon DLC, Remnant 2 players will explore a part of N’Erud preserved by time, with robots tending farms of a long-gone species. However, not everything is perfect. A Rogue AI threatens to stir up trouble following your arrival, preventing you from reaching the one pulling the strings to learn what happened. Similar to previous Remnant 2 DLCs, we can expect a new Archetype, weapons, and gear to add to our arsenal, further enhancing the many unique builds available.
For those who want an even more inviting challenge, the free Boss Rush mode tests your skills against some of the toughest adversaries Gunfire Games has created in Remnant 2. If you’ve been missing a particular weapon or crafting item that a boss drops, these encounters can drop the items you need, so you won’t have to go through an entire campaign to get them.
