The numbers and accolades continue to pile up for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, as the battle royale game stretched its lead on the concurrent user leaderboards this weekend. This latest high comes just nine days after PUBG beat out Dota 2 to become number one on the list, and that lead has been added to with about 200,000 additional players in a little over a week. Meanwhile, Dota 2 is at its lowest player count since 2014. Recently, PUBG added a new gun after months of improvements to the game’s optimization and overall quality of life. The consistent updates to the game since it entered early access in March have undoubtedly added to its ever-expanding playerbase. As for what’s next for PUBG, the game is still headed towards a full release some time before the end of 2017. Improvements in the works include a new desert map, a vaulting system, and a new vehicle.
