Apex Legends came out of the gates strong on Twitch at its launch in February—but views dropped significantly in March.

Apex lost approximately 75 percent of its Twitch views in its second month, while Fortnite remained consistent, according to a StreamElements report. A StreamElements chart compares the two battle royale giants across six weeks.

In only its second week, Apex peaked at more than 40 million hours of views on Twitch. But it steadily declined from there to nearly 10 million hours on Twitch by the week of March 11.

Fortnite, on the other hand, continues to remain on top at roughly 20 million hours throughout both February and March. This makes it seem like players are quickly losing interest in Apex, despite its initial financial success for EA and Respawn Entertainment.

Fortnite did drop below 100 million hours of total Twitch views for the month of February, which is a first for it in months. Apex’s launch likely played a hand in that.
