What are Realms in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Realms are unlockable areas you can use to visit iconic areas from various Disney films. Each one requires a varying amount of Dreamlight to unlock and is home to at least one character, but sometimes more.

Every Realm has a unique symbol on its door telling you which Realm and characters you can find inside. The snowflake symbol on one door indicates a Frozen Realm lies within, while the leafy plant symbol is representative of Wall-E, and this pattern prevails across all active Realm doors. Doors with no symbol are placeholders for future Realms to be added.

Each Realm differs drastically from the rest depending on what film the Realm represents. The Ratatouille Realm, for example, transports you to a kitchen where you must cook alongside Remy while the Frozen Realm sends you to Anna and Elsa deep in the heart of a forest churning in chaos due to an imbalance between the four elements.

While you can find some characters around the village immediately, most villagers are instead locked away inside Realms. You have to unlock them to bring the characters back to Dreamlight Valley and stop the Forgetting from consuming everything.

Where to find Realms in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To visit a Realm for the first time, you need to unlock the Dream Castle and then spend Dreamlight to open the specific Realm door within. Unlocking the Dream Castle costs 2,000 Dreamlight, and each Realm within costs an additional varying amount of Dreamlight on top of this.

Based on the Realm prices so far, each one seems to generally cost more Dreamlight than the last. It’s crucial you stock up on as much Dreamlight as possible if you want to access all of the unique worlds.

Upcoming Realms in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are currently no known upcoming Realms based on the late 2024 roadmap, but new ones will likely be announced sometime near the end of 2024 or early 2025. Gameloft releases roadmaps with fresh details pretty regularly, so once everything on the current one ends, we’ll have a better idea of the Realms that are arriving next.

Leaked Realms in Disney Dreamlight Valley

While these Realms aren’t certain, Gameloft’s promise to expand upon the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley means the leaked characters found in a data mine and their accompanying Realms are quite likely to appear in the future of Disney Dreamlight Valley.

  • An Encanto Realm seems like a probable addition since Mirabel joined the valley in February 2023. An Encanto Realm didn’t release with her, but considering how large the Madrigal family is, it is quite likely more of the family will be released in the future, and that an Encanto Realm could arrive with them.
  • A Lilo & Stitch Realm is a likely addition. The titular character Stitch from Lilo & Stitch joined the valley in December 2022. He did not come with a Realm, which likely means one will be released in the future with other characters from this film like Lilo, Pleakley, and Jumba Jookiba.
  • A Wreck-It Ralph Realm should eventually arrive since Ralph has appeared in various trailers and other characters appeared on the leaked list. Vanellope von Schweetz made her way into the valley in early Summer 2023, but a Realm didn’t arrive with her, which means it may be added in the future.
  • A The Incredibles Realm based on the films may come sometime in the future since Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, and Syndrome appear on the leaked character roster. The first ever Star Path, which was Pixar-themed, also featured quite a few items from these films.
  • A Hercules Realm with almost the full cast, including Hercules himself, Hades, Megara, and Phil (Philoctetes), seems highly likely based on the leaked list of characters and the Hercules items you can obtain.
  • A Cinderella Realm for the princess is possible due to her appearance in a few trailers. Other Cinderella characters are also on the leaked list and may appear in the Cinderella Realm. Fairy Godmother arrived in the fifth update, but she is the only character from Cinderella currently in the game for now.

  • Ariel, Eric, and Ursula may get The Little Mermaid Realm after all, as King Triton, Sebastian, and Flounder are among the leaked characters. The former trio is currently available in Disney Dreamlight Valley with no Realm to accompany them.
  • Among the data mined characters are a few from Raya and the Last Dragon, so it is likely a Raya and the Last Dragon Realm and these characters will be added.
  • An Alice in Wonderland Realm is likely coming due to Alice, Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts, and Mad Hatter appearing in the data mine. Alice in Wonderland assets are also already present in Disney Dreamlight Valley, like the Cheshire Cat motif.
  • A Snow White Realm is probable, but interestingly, the only character who has been leaked from this film so far is Prince Charming. Regardless, we can probably expect to see more characters, including Snow White herself and the Evil Queen, also make their way to Dreamlight Valley. The Evil Queen’s signature mirror on the wall appeared as an obtainable asset on the Villain Star Path.
  • Three characters from Aladdin are on the leaked list and will likely be found within an Agrabah-themed Aladdin Realm. These characters are Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie. Jafar is the overarching villain in the A Rift in Time expansion pass, and can be obtained by completing all story quests in it, but the other characters could be released in a Realm.

Possible Realms in Disney Dreamlight Valley

These potential Realms are simply Disney properties and would fit into the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley quite well. Some of these speculations also have solid foundations due to assets from these films already appearing in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

  • A Coco Realm seems extremely likely due to the number of Coco-themed items you can collect.
  • Up also has a lot of assets already present, which means a future Realm with Carl, Russell, Dug, and more Up characters in a dedicated Up Realm seems very possible.
  • A Tangled Realm is a possibility since Flynn Rider hasn’t arrived in the valley yet. Mother Gothel can be unlocked from the Glade of Trust, and Rapunzel is part of the A Rift in Time expansion pass, but it’s still possible a Realm for the film could be added.
  • It’s likely Disney Dreamlight Valley will eventually include Realms for all Disney princesses since they are staples within the world of Disney. Ariel, Moana, Rapunzel, Mulan, Tiana, and Belle are already in the game, Jasmine is on the list of leaked characters, and Snow White’s love interest is on the leaked list, so she is likely in the works, too. This just leaves a Brave Realm, a Pocahontas Realm, and a Sleeping Beauty Realm to add the rest of the princesses to the valley.

  • A Nightmare Before Christmas Realm is possible considering Jack Skellington is already in the valley and Sally’s arrival has been teased. Other characters like Oogie Boogie could be added with this Realm, too.
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley’s fifth update had Disney 100 and a Pixar-based Star Path. It featured motifs from Turning Red and Inside Out, so both a Turning Red Realm and an Inside Out Realm could be added.
  • Cars has many assets featured on the Pixar Star Path. The residents of Radiator Springs could race their way into Dreamlight Valley in a Cars Realm. It would certainly be interesting to see cars alongside humans, critters, and all other types of unique Disney characters in the village.
  • The Sword in the Stone Realm is a possibility since Merlin is in Disney Dreamlight Valley and a substantial number of items from this film can be found or purchased.
  • Although Gameloft has not shared any hints or plans for adding Marvel and Star Wars content to Disney Dreamlight Valley, both are massive parts of Disney so they could be added as possible Realms in the future.
  • Depending on how Gameloft decides to handle new movie releases, we could possibly see characters from future Disney films appear in the valley around the same time the films launch.

There are lots of doors waiting to be explored inside the Dreamlight Castle with even more certain to open in the future. As new Realms are added or as future ones are teased, we’ll update all information here.
