Can you save Bonnie in The Casting of Frank Stone?

Inevitable or preventable?

Bonnie is Jaime’s sister, Linda’s love interest, a rocking guitar player, and one of the best characters in The Casting of Frank Stone—but her time is unfortunately cut short.

A hint of something between Bonnie and Linda, their infatuation for each other ignites but is quickly snuffed out by Frank Stone’s endless bloodthirst. But is it possible for Bonnie to survive in The Casting of Frank Stone?

Unfortunately, Bonnie’s death is indeed canon—she is meant to die in The Casting of Frank Stone. In this version of events (where all timelines seemingly collide with one another), Bonnie dies in 1980 and 2024. Yes, it’s a bit of a fuzzy area when it comes to Bonnie, as her death in 1980 implies Madi shouldn’t exist in 2024. Yet here she is, having to come to terms with the fact her mother has died for the second time.

Strangely, Bonnie isn’t the only death meant to happen in The Casting of Frank Stone. Stan is meant to be the second victim, who you are prompted to save by repeatedly mashing a button when he is grabbed by the reborn Frank Stone through the projector. This, however, gets Linda or Sam killed (the choice is yours), but we don’t want that.

Neither Stan nor Bonnie are playable characters in The Casting of Frank Stone, making them more expendable than the others. Sadly, Bonnie is killed off to showcase Stone’s killer instinct, coldness, and threat to the playable characters.

Unlike Stan, Bonnie’s death is a direct nod to a key Dead by Daylight mechanic; the hooking method is the primary way Killers take out Survivors. The hook is used as a sacrifice for the Entity to (I assume) absorb their soul. Bonnie’s death isn’t one you can avoid or try to change in a future playthrough. The Cutting Room Floor paths reveal this event is canon, and while Stan can temporarily be saved, Bonnie cannot.
