This story quest is a key step in figuring out what to do about Doctor Doom’s relentless rule. It requires immense precision to complete, so here’s how to collect a control chip by hitting a headshot on Doom’s henchmen in Fortnite.

You can collect a control chip by hitting a headshot on Doom’s henchmen by finding one of these NPCs on the map and successfully landing a headshot against them. There are three key steps to this quest.

  • Find one of Doom’s henchmen.
  • Land a headshot against one of Doom’s henchmen.
  • Pick up the control chip.

Doom’s henchmen location in Fortnite

You can primarily find Doom’s henchmen wandering around three key locations, including Doom Castle, Doomstadt, and The Raft. They’re pretty common at all three locations, but I’ve personally seen the most Doom henchmen hanging around Doom Castle, which makes it the best spot to visit for this task.

I’ve also occasionally seen smaller groups of Doom henchmen randomly spawn around the island. When you come across them while out and about, they’re always circled around a Dr. Doom chest you can open. There’s no reliable way to track them down out in the wild, so visiting one of the three main POIs is your best bet.

How to get a headshot in Fortnite

You can successfully land a headshot for this quest by carefully aiming your weapon directly at one of Doom’s henchmen’s heads. It’s generally easiest to do this with a precise gun that has a scope.

All I had when I attempted this quest was a Monarch Pistol and a Shotgun, so I used the Monarch Pistol to complete this task. It worked perfectly, although weapons like an AR or Striker Burst Rifle will generally work better for this quest.

Doom’s henchmen are passive until you either attack the boss in the area, which is Emma Frost, Mysterio, or Doombot depending on which location you’re at, or you point a gun at them for too long. For the best odds of success in this task, avoid fighting the bosses until after you get the chip so you can try to sneakily line up your headshot.

How to get the control chip in Fortnite

The control chip drops immediately from the NPC you strike as soon as you successfully land a headshot against one of Doom’s henchmen. You don’t have to vanquish them completely, so if you want, you can just land a headshot, grab the control chip, and take off.

After you complete this story quest, there’s still plenty to uncover and work through around the island. If you’re looking for something different to do, you might enjoy uncovering secrets like the hidden Iron Man room or Gwenpool’s mission. You can also focus on working through some tricky quests for XP like collecting War Machine’s Arsenal, War Machine’s Auto-turret, and War Machine’s Hover Jets or damaging opponents with Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets Mystical Bomb.
