Scott Cawthon, the creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, is teasing a mysterious collaboration in the works, with an announcement expected later today.
Since Aug. 1, Cawthon has been dropping announcements and teases about the FNAF franchise as part of the franchise’s 10th-anniversary celebrations. These drops have included a behind-the-scenes look at the second FNAF movie and the announcement of a fan-game demo on Steam—but it’s today’s announcement of a mystery collab that has fans stumped.
We don’t know much about the collab or when it might shadow drop today, so when can we expect to see it?
When is the Five Nights at Freddy’s collab announcement?
The FNAF collab announcement is taking place on Aug. 5 (today), but there is currently no set time for the announcement and no details on what the collab is about.
If we were to make an educated guess based on all the recent reveals and news, we would predict the announcement to drop anytime between 11am CT and 2pm CT. This ties in with similar reveals Cawthon has been making since Aug. 1. We are already past that point, though, so it seems like the announcement could be delayed until much later on or entirely.
There has been rabid speculation that the collab could be with Fortnite, while others are hoping for Dead by Daylight and other games. But there is nothing concrete to suggest what it might be.
Cawthon was recently interviewed by YouTuber Dawko, revealing some secrets about the FNAF series. He said any collaboration he does has to respect the integrity of the series—whatever that means.
More recently, CLOAK, the clothing brand owned by YouTuber Markiplier, posted a teaser for FNAF merch, which has led fans to believe that this is the collab that was being teased instead.
All we can do is wait and see what this mystery collab is later today.
