The hype around Diablo 4 has remained high since its launch on June 6. But, unfortunately, not everyone can sit down and enjoy the game because of problems such as error code 300202. Though it was prominent upon launch, this issue resurged after the release of Diablo 4’s first major update, Patch 1.1, in July.

Suddenly, your free time designated for Diablo 4 is ruined and you have to plunge deep into researching the error and tracking down possible solutions in an attempt to step foot into Sanctuary and get back to your adventures.

Luckily, hundreds of other players, including some of Dot Esports’ staff, are encountering error code 300202 while trying to load up Diablo 4, and we have more than one solution you can try to bypass this frustrating roadblock and enjoy the game.

The 300202 error message, in most cases, appears on Xbox and PlayStation consoles and prevents players from either creating or logging into their selected character.

This error pops up typically whenever Diablo 4’s servers are stressed due to large numbers of players attempting to log in at once. Events such as the beta, release, and major updates or patches usually result in large influxes of players trying to enter the game, causing both error codes and long queue times.

If you have come across error 300202, there are a few possible solutions you can try.

Check the status of Diablo 4 servers

The Diablo 4 servers are still somewhat unstable and they can crash at peak connection times, resulting in the 300202 error code appearing on your screen. Before you try attempting to fix your internet connection, for example, it’s better to check if the servers have gone down temporarily, so you don’t waste time in that case.

Make sure your internet is working properly

To make sure the problem is not on your side, double-check your internet connection, and only when you’re 100 percent sure it’s working properly, move to the next possible solution.

Update your drivers

Outdated graphics drivers have, in some cases, proven to be the reason for the 300202 error in Diablo 4. So, quickly scan your GPU drivers on your PC and update them if necessary.

Relog

Your last resort should be accepting the error message, closing the game, and restarting it. I don’t recommend this option at all since you’ll have to sit in excruciatingly long queues once again, and you might be welcomed by the same error message again. To better ensure that you do not encounter this error, players can also clear out cache files in Diablo 4 and run the “Scan and Repair” option in the Blizzard launcher to root out any other possible issues. There is no guarantee that this will help you avoid any other potential errors, though.
