Diablo 4 Season Five is slated to be the final season before the action RPG’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, drops in early October. Because of this, Season of the Infernal Hordes is expected to bring many incredible updates and new features—so much so that even the Diablo devs are warning players they won’t want to skip this update.

Diablo 4‘s lead game producer Timothy Ismay boldly declared in an interview by PCGamesN that every player should “come for Season Five because Season Five is pretty great.” If you haven’t been keeping up with the Diablo 4 news, you may be wondering why you should even play Season Five when the expansion is right around the corner.

Season Five will introduce a new wave-based feature where you must tackle seemingly endless monsters; 50 new uniques and legendaries will also be added, and every unique in Diablo 4 will be updated to be better than ever. On top of all that, a new loot (Mythic Uniques) has been added and you’ll have better drop rates.

“You know, if we see you in the expansion then we see you in the expansion,” Ismay added, “but also, don’t miss out on seasons—there’s a lot to offer.”

The devs have yet to reveal absolutely everything that will be changed or added in Season Five. However, Ismay mentioned that the team focused on player feedback and will introduce a feature that allows players to review past tutorials. In addition, every aspect now has a unique icon, and you can even favorite aspects at the Occultist. And there has been more of an emphasis on improving the foundations of Diablo 4. So, it seems like a lot of changes will be landing in Sanctuary when this season goes live.

Thankfully, the full notes for Season Five will drop on Thursday this week, so we’ll find out just how good Season Five is shaping to be. Season Four was so good, and if the fifth season goes better than it’s going to be awesome.
