Setting up a private server to practice smokes in CS2 is the best method for training your grenade-throwing techniques on any map. If you don’t want to mess with the console, CS2 has some options you can set up from the get-go:
- Run CS2.
- Click on Play and then Practice.
- Choose Casual.
- Turn on the extra options: Infinite Ammo, Infinite Warmup, and Grenade Camera.
These options don’t include most of the actions you can cover with console commands, though. So, let’s look at all you can do via the console.

The best smoke practice commands in CS2 require you to open the console so you can input them as follows:
- sv_cheats 1: Turn cheats on, making all the commands work.
- bot_kick: Remove all bots.
- mp_warmup_end: Ends warm-up period.
- mp_freezetime 0: Sets freezetime to zero.
- mp_roundtime 60: The round will last one hour.
- mp_maxmoney 60000: Allows players to have $60,000 in-game and buy everything.
- mp_startmoney 60000: Gives you $60,000 right in the first round
- sv_infinite_ammo 1: Infinite ammo for weapons, including grenades.
