Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now, and if you’re a member of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service, then you may be wondering whether the RPG is available as part of your membership.

Xbox Game Pass features a catalog of over 100 games for PC and Xbox consoles and allows subscribers to play these games for no additional cost as long as they’re still part of the online library and the subscription is active. Often, we see new Xbox titles landing in the library on launch day.

Is Baldur’s Gate 3 available on Xbox Game Pass right now?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is not available on Xbox Game Pass right now. This is likely because, while Larian’s RPG is available on PC, it hasn’t been released on Xbox consoles—and likely won’t be anytime soon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released for PC on Aug. 3 and the PlayStation 5 version will be released later on Sept. 6, but an Xbox Series X|S release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Developer Larian Studios confirmed in February 2023 that an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is in development, but it has been delayed due to struggles in making the split-screen co-op feature work on the Xbox Series X|S. This lack of Xbox release could be the reason Baldur’s Gate 3 hasn’t landed on Game Pass yet.

Will Baldur’s Gate 3 come to Xbox Game Pass?

Larian hasn’t confirmed whether or not Baldur’s Gate 3 will be on Microsoft’s gaming subscription service at a later date, but we imagine this wouldn’t happen until after the game has been released on Xbox consoles. So if you’re waiting for Baldur’s Gate 3 to come to Xbox Game Pass then you could be waiting a while.

While Baldur’s Gate 3 is not on Xbox Game Pass, it is widely available on many other platforms. Larian Studios has stated they are aiming for Sept. 6 for the release date on Playstation 5 as well as Mac via Steam and GOG.
