This season, we have seen many new teams and players rise up and dominate the game.
After a crucial Last Chance Qualifier that would determine who the 16th seeded team would be for Regionals, OpTic Gaming was able to win the tournament and qualify. This was definitely not an easy event for them.
The past few months have been rough for OpTic Gaming’s Halo team. Several bad placings and roster changes have taken their toll and OpTic Halo is on the brink of not being able to make it to regionals.
This weekend we finally experienced the first major Halo 5 LAN, taking place at the 2016 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
X Games Aspen starts tomorrow and the top 6 Halo teams from North America, as well as the top 2 teams from Europe, will be competing. They are there not only to win a medal, but to make Halo history.
In the fourth HWC Online Qualifier last, newly formed team "Renegades", consisting of Ninja, Commonly, Spartan, and Victory X were able to place 3rd.
eSports is all about creating a fair competitive environment. Both teams are given the same weapons and opportunities and neither side should ever have any kind of hidden advantage over the opposing team.
After weeks of rumors, ESPN announced that Halo will be at X Games Aspen this year as part of the Halo World Championship Tour.
SoaR Gaming, one of the largest sniping teams in Call of Duty, has now decided to get involved in competitive Halo and sign a team. The roster is currently sitting in 19th place in the NA region. SoaR made the announcement on Twitter.
