Professional Apex Legends player NRG Esports “dizzy” set the solo kill world record with a whopping 33 kills last night.
Dizzy revealed on Twitter that he had beaten the world record in Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends, the new free-to-play battle royale shooter that’s set in the Titanfall universe. He dealt 5,376 damage in a period of 18 minutes and 11 seconds, and amassed 33 solo kills in total.
It’s an impressive record, especially considering 60 is the maximum number of players in any given game. Even if Apex, like Fortnite and PUBG, had 100 players per-game, 33 kills would still be quite the remarkable feat. Dizzy killed over half the players on the server.
Dizzy is scheduled to take part in the North American Apex Twitch Rivals tournament today, alongside popular streamers Richard ‘KingRichard’ Nelson, and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins.
Although KingRichard and Ninja are not quite as prolific on Apex as they are on Fortnite, the trio will no doubt be contenders for the number one spot. That being said, it’s an open playing field, and the game has only just been released. An underdog team could just as easily take home the trophy.
Twitch Rivals is kicking off today. The European portion of the tournament will begin at 11am CT on Feb. 12 and 19. North American will kick off at 3pm CT on the same dates.
