Apex Legends is a game that’s meant to be played with a friend—after all, the only game mode available right now requires two teammates. With an emphasis on teamwork, there’s no better reason to invite friends into your matches. If you aren’t completely familiar with Apex, it may be difficult to figure out how to add someone as a friend. All it takes, though, is a few simple steps to start playing with your friends.

If you’re playing Apex on PC, you’ll have to add new friends through the Origin client. Open the Origin client and click on the “Friends” menu option at the top of the interface. Once you’ve done this, the client will prompt you to search for your friend’s account with a search bar. You can find your friend by entering their public ID, real name, or email address.

Once you’ve found your friend’s account on Origin, you’ll be taken to their profile, where you can send a friend request. After your friend accepts the request, you’ll be able to find them in-game. On the Apex landing screen, you can invite online friends to join your squad by clicking on your friend’s list in the bottom right of the screen.

If you’re playing Apex on a console, the process is a little bit different to add friends. On PlayStation, you can add friends by searching for their PSN. Once your friends have been added on the console, they’ll show up in the Apex lobby if they’re online. For Xbox users, it’s a similar process. All you have to do is add your friend’s gamertag and they’ll appear in Apex.

There are multiple reasons why you might want to play with your friends. In addition to having better coordination in the game, you’ll also earn a five percent bonus to Survival Time XP when in a party. Even if your friends aren’t the most skilled at Apex, you may still want to consider joining up with them.
