Here are the best landing spots in World's Edge if you want to become the champion.

World’s Edge made its way to Apex Legends as part of season three, but it’s much more than just a stage for battle. The Talos map was elected as an alternative to Kings Canyon after Crypto took down the repulsor tower, and the maleficent Hammond Robotics corrupted most of the planet during season four as part of its resource extraction initiative.

Since its inception, this map has grown to be more than the sum of its parts. Its POIs bridge the gap between man-made structures and a natural world in turmoil, resulting in struggles between players and its environment that are almost more dramatic than the player-versus-player action that Apex has become known for.

To celebrate World’s Edge and the many changes it’s gone through, we’ve put together a complete drop guide to the map. Here, you’ll find a list of the map’s best drop points, the best places to find high-tier loot, and a few rotational strategies to help your team make it to the top.

Best landing spots on World’s Edge in Apex

World’s Edge is an enormous map; until the introduction of Storm Point, it was the game’s largest map by sheer land mass. Even now, it can be imposing to pick a place to land, especially considering its diverse POIs and smaller objectives. If you’re looking to get some good early loot and potentially take on a fight as soon as you hit the ground, try Big Maude. This Rampart-themed town takeover is sure to attract attention thanks to the huge amount of loot it contains and the potential to snag a powerful weapon from one of its kiosks. It’s a popular place to drop, so be ready to fight.

Trials is another location that’s good for an early gear-up. This Bloodhound-themed POI contains a short PvE fight that players can initiate when they land. In addition to the floor loot found throughout the cavernous zone, defeating the prowlers inside rewards players with high-tier loot and plenty of ammo, setting them well on their way to victory.

If you’d rather fight right off the bat, head for Countdown. It’s a popular place to land with a good amount of loot scattered around its circular basin. The inner rooms and height differences provide a decent amount of cover for skilled players to weave in and out of, and its fairly central location lends it well to rotations to several other parts of the map.

The Geyser is another great place to land if you’re looking for a fight: it’s another popular drop destination with good sightlines for snipers and plenty of indoor space to hide in if you get cornered. The central geyser also acts as a mini jump tower for those who want to make a quick escape.

Despite what you may have heard about the popularity of Fragment West and Fragment East, don’t bother landing there. The loot is bad, it’s not very concentrated, and all of the players who want to fight right off the bat land there, leading to almost no available guns or ammo. You’re better off landing somewhere else and gearing up or taking a safer first fight than landing in the map’s most populous POIs.

Rotational zones on World’s Edge

Once you’ve won your first fight or geared up to your own standards, it’s time to move somewhere else. After all, unless you get incredibly lucky, the place you drop probably isn’t going to be the site of the final ring anyway, so get a move on and look for your next fight.

As previously mentioned, Fragment West and Fragment East are some of the busiest and most central locations on World’s Edge, so unless you’re actively looking to push other squads, you’ll probably want to avoid the area. If you’re trying to pass through there, it’s better to follow the wall past Overlook and head south between The Geyser and Harvester, or take the tunnel to Landslide and split off either toward Lava Fissure or Staging.

If you’re coming from the east side of the map near Climatizer-Overlook, make sure you go through the under-mountain tunnel between Fragment East and the Geyser. There’s a vault in between that can be unlocked if you come across a Vault Key. If you have Loba in your party, she can steal at most one item from a locked vault, but it will destroy her Black Market Boutique and briefly set off the vault’s alarm. There’s an equivalent vault between Lava City, The Dome, and Launch Site, so make your way there if you want some good loot. After leaving Lava City, take the road to Lava Siphon if you’re looking to fight, or the narrow pathway to The Geyser if you’d rather not.

If you’re coming from the southern half of the map, head through Harvester if you plan on sniping. It has great sightlines on the surrounding areas—you’ll be able to see anyone coming for miles. It also often contains a replicator, so you can craft a better weapon or level up your evo shield if you find yourself with some spare time. If you’re coming out of Thermal Station, avoid the large paved road nearby that connects The Tree to Staging, as it has very little cover; instead, make directly for Staging through one of the valleys north of Thermal and take shelter in a building.

Those on the western half of the map have a few options. If you landed in Trials, you can climb down from the mountain and walk into Skyhook, which may present a few fight opportunities. You can also pass around the edge of Countdown and follow the valley toward The Epicenter and Fragment West, which puts you at a more central location. If you’re down by Thermal Station, try rotating into The Tree to get to any loot that other players might have missed.

Entering from the northern half of the map gives you several opportunities to move around. Avoid going through Survey Camp, as there isn’t much loot there. Climatizer offers decent loot, as does Skyhook, though the latter’s loot is more spread out than in many smaller POIs. The Epicenter usually isn’t worth going through, as running down the hill toward the center puts you at a long-range disadvantage and the loot is awful.

World’s Edge’s best loot zones

Like the game’s other battle royale maps, World’s Edge offers plenty of lootable zones and hot loot locations. The Tree, The Geyser, Countdown, and Harvester are frequently marked as hot loot zones, which means players who drop there have a higher chance of finding a fully-kitted weapon, high-level EVO shields and attachments, as well as other goodies. Other players will likely be drawn to hot loot zones, so expect a fight as soon as you land.

If you want a more relaxed place to get some good loot, head for Trials. It’s usually not a busy POI, especially if it’s a long way away from the dropship’s path, and it guarantees good loot if you can finish the simple prowler fight on the inside. Once you’re there, you have plenty of rotational opportunities depending on whether you want to take a fight immediately afterward.

Loot-hunters who enjoy combat have plenty of opportunities at Countdown. Activating the control panel at the top of the basin raises a center platform in the middle of the POI that contains even more loot. The platform is guaranteed to include two blue shields and one purple or gold shield, giving you an easy and quick way to gear up. Manipulating the walls can also give you an early height advantage over other squads, especially if you’re looking to snipe.

Big Maude is another popular, busy loot zone. Intrepid fighters can use materials to unlock some of Rampart’s custom weapons, which often include attachments and are an easy way to get a drop on the competition. If there aren’t enough materials scattered around Big Maude, rotate south into Lava City to look for more, as it frequently contains a replicator. Know that the large amount of loot and potential to unlock powerful weapons is going to draw a lot of traffic, so be ready for a fight.

No matter where you are on World’s Edge, keep an eye out for flying cargo bots. Shooting them down at just the right moment grants a vault key, which can be used to unlock either the vault between The Geyser and Fragment East or the vault between Lava City, The Dome, and Launch Site. These vaults feature epic or higher loot, including evo shields, attachments, helmets, and hop-ups, and are well worth the travel time if you’re looking to get a leg up on your enemies.

World’s Edge has plenty of secrets and opportunities for players to discover as they’re fighting and looting their way to the top. If you blink, you might just miss them, so make sure to take your time combing every inch of this huge map—the rewards for those patient enough to do so are incredibly worthwhile.
