The best Chimera loadout in Warzone

Bring your best recoil control.

The legendary Honey Badger from Call of Duty: Ghosts has returned to Warzone in the form of the Chimera. With an integrated suppressor and excellent close-quarters damage, the best Chimera Warzone loadout can have you eliminating players in no time.

The Chimera is unlocked by either extracting it from Building 21 in DMZ mode or by getting two Operator kills with assault rifles in 15 separate matches. No matter how you get it done, adding the Chimera to your loadout is just the beginning.

This gun needs some help from the Gunsmith to make it formidable, especially compared to other strong weapons in the AR archetype like the TAQ-56, M4, or the ISO Hemlock.

Here are the best attachments for the Chimera in Warzone.

  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock: Ravage-8
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
    • Recoil Stabilization: +0.80oz
    • Aiming Idle Stability: +0.40in
  • Ammunition: .300 BLK Armor Piercing
    • Recoil Smoothness: -0.70g
    • Recoil Steadiness: -9.00gr
  • Rear Grip: D37 Grip
    • Recoil Steadiness: +1.00oz
    • Sprint to Fire Speed: -0.45in

There’s really not too much you can do to help the Chimera become the kind of AR that you should be using on Al Mazrah. In general, in Warzone, I want a long-range weapon with little recoil to help fight enemies from afar.

The Chimera has some of the worst range in class, and its recoil is also not great. These attachments will help it along to make it at least a decent option. But the reality is that you’re almost always better off using a different gun, as things currently stand. I prefer several other assault rifles.

In its current state, the Chimera is something of a hybrid SMG/AR that can be used as close-range sniper support. It won’t have much success at longer ranges, so I like to use it in close-range scenarios only.

The rest of the attachments are standard fare when it comes to equipping your assault rifle in BR, so use them to try to fix up its recoil issues, and you could find some success at mid-range on Vondel or Ashika Island especially.

Best perks for the Chimera in Warzone

Perk Package: Double Time, Battle Hardened, Fast Hands, Ghost

As of now, this is the best perk package to use in Warzone for all-purpose general gameplay. I love this package because Double Time and Battle Hardened will keep you on the move and lessen the effects of tactical grenades, and Ghost will remove you from the enemy’s radar if they call in a UAV.

Best equipment for the Chimera in Warzone

Tactical: Stun
Lethal: Throwing Knife

If you’ve ever been hit by a stun grenade in Warzone, you know how helpless it feels as you’re slowed to a crawl for what feels like an eternity. Do that to your enemy. And then I like to use a throwing knife to finish them off when they’re downed.
