Unlike the first day of the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, which featured two sweeps, both of the second day’s matches went to decisive third maps.
Natus Vincere and mousesports came out on top in their matches, defeating Fnatic and FaZe Clan respectively. As expected, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev led the way for Na’Vi, but his teammates chipped in a fair amount to earn the win.
For mousesports, Robin “ropz” Kool had a 1.15 rating and positive-10 plus-minus. The team’s newest addition, former Virtus Pro star Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, looked more comfortable than some may have expected, finishing second in ADR and rating among the mouz players.
Na’Vi vs. Fnatic
The win continues Na’Vi’s incredible run of play lately. The CIS team have seemingly picked up where they left off after winning the ESL One Cologne event earlier in the month. Na’Vi have won the last three events they’ve attended, claiming victory in the fifth season of StarSeries i-League, the CS:GO Asia Championships, and the aforementioned ESL One Cologne.
Mirage: 16-13 (Na’Vi)
Inferno: 16-11 (Fnatic)
Train: 16-8 (Na’Vi)
FaZe Clan vs. mousesports
With the added star power of Snax, mouz looked strong in their meeting with FaZe today. They’ll need to keep their form, though, when they take on Na’Vi in the next round.
Train: 16-11 (FaZe)
Cache: 16-12 (mouz)
Mirage: 16-13 (mouz)
The winners from the first round matches will be in action tomorrow, July 23, starting at 1pm CT. On one side of the bracket, Astralis will battle Team Liquid, while Na’Vi and mouz collide on the opposite side.
