Prisms are one of the new mechanics you get to handle in Remnant 2 following the arrival of The Dark Horizon DLC. A Prism adds depth to your already thoroughly created Remnant 2 character, allowing you to evolve them in a way you haven’t had the opportunity to do so.

You can find Prisms on the Fragment page of your Remnant 2 inventory. They are the central item you can swap out for other Prisms you locate throughout your journey. These can appear outside of The Dark Horizon DLC, and might include other passive buffs you want to use to enhance your character further. Something you might not know how to do is to strengthen your Prism, leveling it up. Here’s what you need to know about how to enhance your Prism in Remnant 2.

The Prisms you get in Remnant 2 can be leveled up by fighting enemies and progressing through any quest that gives your character experience. The best way to enhance it is by playing the game, and this is a steady process you get as you continue working through any campaign or adventure mode offered in Remnant 2.

However, if you want a more direct way to enhance your Prism, you can feed it any unwanted Fragments you earn. The Fragments you get from defeating elite enemies or looting from chests can go directly into your Prism. If you do this, they provide you with a sizeable amount of experience, making it easier to level up a Prism in Remnant 2. However, you’re better off avoiding this if there’s a particular Fragment you want to use, even if it’s better on a different Prism.

Each Prism you use in Remnant 2 can activate up to three Fragments, free passives that enhance your character. However, the Prisms contain hidden passives you must unlock by leveling them up. Every time your Prism gets a level, you must choose between enhancing one of three passives associated with the item. You can focus on a handful or gradually level them all up as you continue to enhance your Prism. The longer you wield a Prism on your Remnant 2 character, the higher level it becomes with more powerful passives.

When a Prism reaches level 50, you unlock a Legendary Bonus, providing the highest enhancement level available in Remnant 2. Every time you level up beyond 50, there’s another Legendary Bonus you can pick from to give your character even more potent abilities. If you don’t like the starting passives you’ve given your Prism at level 50, you can reset it and reselect them from the beginning.

To reach these Legendary Bonuses, focus on reaching level 50 with your Prism. A quick way to do this is by feeding a Prism any unwanted Fragments that don’t fit your build in Remnant 2, or you might want to run through the Boss Rush mode, where you can choose to fight three back-to-back encounters, a trial by fire where you fight six bosses, or go through the gauntlet where you battle against them all in a single run. For those starting, the Triple Threat boss mode might be the best way to sample your build and see if you’re ready to handle the tougher game modes in Remnant 2.
