Enotria Battlemage build: Weapons, Mask Lines, Path of Innovators, and more

The Battlemage is the Faith/Intelligence build of Enotria. The focus of this is Mask Lines and Ardore Power.

With three loadouts in mind, let’s dive into our Battlemage recommendations.

Enotria: Battlemage stats

With a focus on Mask Lines, you need to prioritize the Battlemage stat over everything else. However, this doesn’t mean that you should leave the other Virtues in the dark. You should be leveling up every Virtue bar Trickster. However, Bruiser isn’t important to upgrade until you reach Falesia Magna (unless you’re planning on tackling Vermiglio before moving on to the next region).

Here’s our recommendation for the Battlemage build (Lvl. 67):

  • Bruiser: 20
  • Assassin: 30
  • Elementalist: 18
  • Trickster: 13
  • Battlemage: 35

Battlemage build: Best Masks

There aren’t many Masks that boost Mask Line damage, but here are our recommendations for your Battlemage build:

MaskDescriptionUnlock requirement
Gardener’s MaskYou heal by a portion of your max health for each enemy hit by Ardore Burst. Also increases the healing strength of Armonia Amber when you’re Awakened.Collect 100 Gardener Mask shards.
Vermiglio’s MaskPerforming an Ardore Burst increases your Ardore Power for a short duration.Defeat Vermiglio, The Red Prior.
Priestess’ MaskWhen you kill an enemy with a Mask Line, you have a chance to enter an Awakened state. When Awakened, your Ardore and Elemental Power are increased.Collect 300 Priestess Mask shards.
Piercing Wit MaskIncreases the damage dealt by ranged Mask Lines. Additionally, while you’re Awakened, dealing a finishing blow to an enemy charges up all ranged Mask Lines.Default Mask.

Battlemage build: Best weapons

Here are the best weapons for your Battlemage build:

WeaponLocation
Juniper SwordBehind a pile of fallen bodies next to Field of Beginnings Corda Risonante.
Blessed RapierDefeat Curtis, the Prince of Laughter, and find Rapier in a chamber nearby.
Vermilion PastoralReward for defeating Vermiglio, the Red Prior.
Theater HalberdInside Theater of Masks. At the end of the Merchant corridor, before you explore the large room with sand on the floor.
Gluttonous ForkReward for defeating Zanni, The First Mask.

The aim of the game is range, keeping close- and long-range options on hand at all times. This lets you easily move away from the ongoing fight without taking damage, allowing you to unleash one of your Mask Lines to cancel an enemy’s special move.

Range is imperative in this build, regardless of whether you dodge like me or can perfectly parry every incoming attack. Polearms give you range, Longswords have high damage without losing mobility, and Rapiers offer speed.

Enotria: Top Mask Lines for Battlemage build

The strength of this build lies in its Mask Lines. Similar to our weapon choices, we recommend long-range Mask Lines to deal damage from afar, letting you heal in the background, or close the gap to unleash large AoE combos.

Mask LineDescription
Fuoco FatuoSummon Vermiglio’s scepter and shoot a Fatuo orb straight ahead.
Deadly LightsSummon Zanni’s Gluttonous Fork and conjure multiple Vis orbs that relentlessly chase enemies.
Mystic ConquestConjure an Ardore Greatsword and perform a chain of attacks that release a ranged slash that travels forward.
Golden DartSummons an ethereal crossbow made of Ardore and shoots a single bolt in a straight trajectory.

Don’t forget to upgrade your Mask Lines at the anvil upgrade stations! You should also choose Paths to boost your Mask Line damage and cooldown speed. The Mask Lines can inflict status effects and put you in a position that won’t punish you for overextending in the fight.

It’s also easier to parry Elemental moves from magic users with the Indaco Tear equipped.

Battlemage build: Path of Innovators recommendations

The Aspect of the Enchanter boosts your Battlemage stat without lowering other Virtues. When choosing what Path of Innovators to go down, we recommend anything that boosts your Mask Lines. Our weapons have high Ardore Power which can be strengthened further with particular Paths. You can also increase your overall damage and stamina, and boost that Mask Line charge time.

Here are our Path of Innovators recommendations:

PathDescription
FarsightedCasting a range Mask Line briefly increases your Ardore Power. Additionally, the Mask Line charges up slightly.
AnnihilatorYour weapon attacks have a chance to deal increased damage.
Layers of ThornsSuffering melee damage causes the attacker to sustain physical damage in return.
Path of AssassinationUpon dealing damage, your Stamina Regeneration is briefly increased.
Infusion Master, Part 2While your weapon is infused, Mask Lines deal more damage and charges up more effectively.
Greater Inner MightCasting a Mask Line grants you increased Physical Defense as well as Super Armor for a short duration.

This loadout links Mask Lines and Ardore Power together, with every sector of the loadout strengthening these two aspects. Finally, the Armonia Sap is a carry-on essential as it replenishes health with every successful melee attack. Long-range weapons work best when the Sap is consumed, as you time a heavy attack before or after the enemy’s combo, restoring some of that lost HP without your limited healing items. I like to have a lot of these on hand before heading into a boss fight.
