The first details of Pokémon Go’s new season, Max Out, have been revealed, and the U.K. is getting an exclusive regional Pokémon.
Stonjourner from Pokémon Sword and Shield is set to join the game on Sept. 3 alongside a host of new Galar Pokémon and will be a regional exclusive Pokémon in the U.K. This should come as no surprise, considering the Pokémon is based on Stonehenge.
It’s the first time the U.K. has received a regional exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Go. Europe as a region has a few exclusive Pokémon like Mr. Mime and Mime. Jr and Klefki (France), but Stonjourner will only be spawning in the U.K. and won’t be available elsewhere.
On Aug. 18, Dot Esportstalkedk to Michael Steranka, Pokémon Go’s director, at the 2024 World Championships before the announcement went live. We asked him about the prospect of Stonjourner being a regional exclusive and even asked if the Pokémon might only spawn around Stonehenge. He gave us a coy “No Comment” at the time and hinted we might get news soon, and here we are.
On top of the Stonjourner news, we also got confirmation that the Galar Starter Pokémon and Dreepy are coming to the game on Sept. 3 and are the game’s first Wild Pokémon spawns of 2024, and Dynamax is coming Sept. 10 onwards.
Pokémon Go’s Max Out Season ends Dec. 3. More Galar Pokémon, including Morpeko, are expected to show up throughout the next three months.
