There are plenty of exciting additions to look forward to and a decent amount we already know about. If you want to know everything you can expect to see before the year ends, here’s a complete breakdown of the entire late 2024 roadmap for Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The late 2024 roadmap for Disney Dreamlight Valley includes at least two free base game updates, the final chapter for the A Rift in Time expansion pass, a showcase stream that will likely reveal a new DLC and some planned free content, and at least one more additional free update near the end of the year.

There’s a lot to unpack with all of this, so here’s everything you need to know about the roadmap.

August 2024 Disney Dreamlight Valley update

The August 2024 update includes the arrival of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Although the arrival of this princess is the main attraction, this update also has some additional exciting features including Tiana’s Palace, new outdoor furnishings, and a fresh Star Path event to work through. The Star Path event is 1920s-themed and likely will feature lots of New Orleans-style items that fit the aesthetic of The Princess and the Frog.

Tiana is known for her amazing cooking, and many of the teasers for her arrival have mentioned “culinary delights” which could hint at Remy finally getting some competition as Tiana brings her own restaurant to the valley. Tiana’s Palace is the name of her restaurant at the Disney theme parks, so hopefully this means it will be another restaurant to dine at in the game, too.

August 2024 Disney Dreamlight Valley A Rift in Time expansion pass conclusion

If you have the A Rift in Time DLC, the final chapter for this expansion pass is also releasing alongside the free base game update in August. This means it’s finally time to enter Jafar’s palace and stop his wicked scheming.

Following this update, Jafar is expected to join the valley as a villager. The teaser for the final chapter also mentions “more exciting surprises” waiting to be discovered.

October 2024 Disney Dreamlight Valley update

The October 2024 update is going to be “smaller in scope and shorter” than most others, but it’s still bringing two new villagers to the valley as Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King finally arrive. Both characters can be found in the already-existing Lion King Realm, and you need to team up with the Forgotten to get rid of Night Mites, a new problem related to the Forgetting.

Beyond the arrival of these two characters and the story that goes with them, this update is mostly focused on improving the game overall to prepare for a bigger update arriving later in the year. There are lots of improvements planned for this update and beyond, including a search bar for the Furniture catalog, new features that grant more space and freedom to decorate, and more.

Disney Dreamlight Valley late 2024 showcase stream

The rest of the content in 2024 and teasers for 2025 are being unveiled in a special showcase stream expected to air after the October 2024 update based on the roadmap. This showcase is expected to likely reveal another expansion pass since it appears in the paid expansion section.

The only teaser for this showcase is a bookstand, which doesn’t provide much insight into what kind of announcements this stream might feature. If it’s similar to A Rift in Time, it will probably include a massive new area to explore, various Disney characters to meet, and more DLC-exclusive content.

Disney Dreamlight Valley other late 2024 content

About one year after the arrival of Jack Skellington, his other half Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas will be arriving sometime in late 2024 with another free update. Since she’s not featured as part of the October 2024 update, she’ll likely launch sometime in December with the winter holidays just like Jack Skellington did to go with the theme of their film.

Nothing else is currently known about the content arriving at the end of 2024, but the roadmap does promise that more is in store, and there are likely more surprises that will be revealed soon. In the meantime, you may want to prepare for upcoming updates by selling the best crops to stock up on Star Coins, collecting all flowers in case you need them for quests or events, and grabbing items from the Premium Shop before they leave and new ones arrive.
