Annihilating Titan in the threat department, Artifice is the most challenging Moon to visit in Lethal Company. Death waits around every corner of this Moon’s surface, where hope is completely lost for those who dare to enter the Eclipsed Artifice.

With the guaranteed spawn of the Old Birds, Artifice welcomes employees with open arms into a horrifying death trap. Unlike any other Lethal Company Moon, the Artifice includes a mini-game based around a unique layout with Warehouses that can trap those frightening Old Birds inside. Here is everything you need to know before you try out Artifice.

Lethal Company’s Artifice is the first Moon ranked as Hazard Level S++. It costs a whopping 1,500 Credits to visit. Introduced in v50, Artifice includes a unique new method of fighting back against the tough outdoor monsters. But which monsters will you face in a S++ rank Moon?

You can unlock Artifice by typing in its name directly into the Dropship Terminal and confirming your visit (as long as you have 1,500 credits). While you can find its code inside Adamance‘s cabin, you don’t need to visit this Moon to get to Artifice.

We highly recommend using the TZP-Inhalant to get past any outdoor entity. Old Birds will often fight other outdoor creatures, so you should leave monsters like Forest Keepers and Baboon Hawks well enough alone to encourage fighting amongst the hostile forces of Artifice. This allows you to escape with a full inventory.

You can designate someone on the team to use the Jetpack to move high-value items back to the ship, while everyone else can either use the Company Cruiser or Inhalant to move scrap and transport employees safely from the Facility. You can also leave scrap inside the truck if the Dropship is plagued by Masked Mimics, Eyeless Dogs, and wandering Forest Keepers.

Tip:

Be sure to activate the Cruiser Magnet to transport the truck to another Moon or Company Building when you’re ready to leave.

The Old Bird activation times vary (unless you are visiting Eclipsed Artifice—which we don’t recommend). There is no set activation time for the Old Birds, as I’ve seen mechs come to life between 3:30 and 4:40pm, while others activate as early as 1pm. The Old Birds will always stand stationary at the beginning of the day, letting you easily enter Artifice’s Facility. Make sure to leave the Apparatus inside the Facility because this will wake the Old Birds early.

As the Old Birds cannot be killed, you should try to trap all but one Old Bird inside the Warehouses scattered around Artifice. There are switches inside these Warehouses that can hold Old Birds inside. Any closed Warehouses likely have Old Birds inside them, so never open these.

Each Warehouse is accessible via front and back entrances. The switch to open or close the front entrance to the Warehouse is always directly next to the giant door. Old Birds will never spawn on their own in Artifice. A maximum of 20 Old Birds can appear, making Eclipsed Artifice an impossible Moon to escape from alive.

The Fire Exit is easy to find as it’s on the right-hand side of the Facility. Always use the scan feature to spot the Home Base and Main Entrance. While you don’t have to, you can get to the Fire Exit by hugging the barbed wire perimeter fence line to the right of the Dropship and following it around. You will eventually find a hole in the fence leading into a shack. You can run to the Fire Exit from here.

With the Fire Exit route in mind, it may be best to move your loot to this door rather than risk it all at the Main Entrance while Old Birds are activated. Be mindful that the Fire Exit is unusable if the Moon is Rainy or Flooded.
