Delves are a new type of bitesize dungeon coming in WoW: The War Within. They’re similar to the short dungeons you find in open-world RPGs like The Elder Scrolls and Diablo 4. Blizzard is adding Delves to WoW so max-level players have more to do in the endgame, and they look like a blast.
What are Delves in WoW The War Within, explained
In WoW: The War Within, Delves are scalable instances for one to five players that provide meaningful endgame gear progression. Delves also contribute to a new reward track in the Great Vault for players who enjoy world content. So, you should expect Delves to be a core pillar of WoW’s endgame content going forward.
Here’s everything we know about Delves in WoW:
- While Delves can have up to five people, they are role-agnostic. This means you won’t strictly need a tank, healer, and DPS to have any chance at success. Hopefully, this should also lessen wait times, so you can dive right into the new content.
- Delves will be involved in seasonal content. You can get seasonal rewards inside Delves, like mounts, achievements, and pets. Seasonal NPCs will also help you as you explore them.
- At the end of the Delve, there will be lots of treasures, but you’ll need to complete objectives or solve puzzles to loot them.
- Delves are part of Blizzard’s mission to make evergreen content that appeals to all types of WoW players. Whether you’re a hardcore player or a casual, Delves should be enjoyable for you.
- Delves will have 11 difficulty levels, called tiers. Tiers one, two, and three will be available at launch, while tiers four and above will unlock in season one.
- It takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete a Delve.
