WoW SoD: All Mage Runes and how to get them
Mages in WoW SoD have access to 12 Runes, but depending on whether you’re a Healer or DPS, the Runes you might engrave onto your gear may differ. However, these are all 12 Runes for Mages in WoW SoD and their locations.
Rune | Ability | Location |
---|---|---|
Burnout (Chest) | This increases your spell’s critical strike chance by 15 percent. However, your non-periodic spell’s critical strikes will now cost you more—one percent of your base mana. | Alliance: – Dun Morogh: The run drops from the Frozen Trogg in the middle of Gol’Bolar Quarry (coordinates: 69.6 and 58.2). However, you must attack it with Fire spells for it to drop. – Elwynn Forest: The rune drops off the Frozen Murloc, located east of the Stone Cairn Lake (coordinates 77.0 and 51.8). However, you must attack it with Fire spells to melt it and get the rune. Horde: – Durotar: This drops off the Frozen Makrura, located east of Razor Hill (coordinates 58.6 and 45.6). However, you must attack it with Fire spells to melt it and get the rune. – Tirisfal Glades: This drops off the Frozen Murloc northeast of Brill (coordinates 66.2 and 40.0). However, you must attack it with Fire spells to melt it and get the rune. |

But this only lasts fifteen seconds. | Alliance: – Dun Morogh: This drops from Timber (coordinates 34.0 and 41.4), Mangeclaw (coordinates 79.6 and 36.6), Bjarn (coordinates 61.4 and 59.4), Vagash (coordinates 62.4 and 48.8), or Edan the Howler (coordinates 43.6 and 49.6) – Elwynn Forest: This drops from Hoggers (coordinates 47.0 and 45.6). Regeneration (Chest) | This costs 43 percent of your base mana and takes three seconds to cast. You will heal your target for a percentage of their health over three seconds, which applies Temporal Beacon for 30 seconds. Temporal Beacon will record a target’s position, and 80 percent of all Arcane damage done by the caster (by this, we mean you, the healer) will convert into chronomatic healing on each of your current Temporal Beacon targets. But this healing isn’t as effective on yourself and is reduced by 50 percent. | Alliance: – Loch Modan: The rune is found in a hut on the northern island in the Loch (coordinates 53.9 and 26.9). Enlightenment (Chest) | You will deal 10 percent more damage if your mana is 70 percent or more. If your mana is below 30 percent, 10 percent of your mana regen will continue while you’re casting. | Alliance: – Elwynn Forest: Near Ridgepoint Tower, random critters will have a Wild Polymorph debuff. You must cast Polymorph on six of them and loot the Azora Apprentice Notes. There are six pages to get, and once you have pages one to six, combine them to get the rune. Horde: – Tirisfal Glades: You must find the Odd Melons on the various farms around the glades. Cast Polymorph on six of them and loot the Apothecary Notes. There are six pages to get, and once you have pages one to six, combine them to get the rune. |

Once you’ve surged, your normal mana regen will kick in and is increased by 300 percent for eight seconds. | Alliance and Horde: You must purchase the Spell Notes: Arcane Surge for two gold from the Supply Factions once you reach Friendly. For the Horde, it’s the Durotar Supply and Logistics Guide. The easiest representative to find is at the coordinates 51.6 and 64.6. For the Alliance, it’s the Azeroth Commerce Authority.
