World of Warcraft players have been getting content fed to them at a blazing pace during the first few months of Dragonflight, and Blizzard has no intention of slowing down any time soon. Fans have known that Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, is just around the corner, and now, they finally have a launch date for the game’s first major content update.
Patch 10.1 will send us to the underground, right beneath the Obsidian Citadel, where we’ll explore Zaralek Cavern and get to know the local residents—the Niffen and the Drogbar. In Zaralek Cavern, we’ll also have to breach the Neltharion’s secret laboratory—Abberus. Aside from that, WoW devs are blessing us with a new Dragonriding mount and new tier sets.
According to a recent announcement made by Blizzard, Dragonflight’s first major patch, Embers of Neltharion, will release on May 2, with the expansion’s second season beginning one week later on May 9.
When does WoW Dragonflight 10.1: Embers of Neltharion release?
Blizzard’s original plan for Patch 10.1’s release date was sometime in-between the spring and summer. Many fans had speculated that the patch would come in late May to early June, so a May 2 release date for Embers of Neltharion is a welcome surprise. Just one week after the patch launches, players will be able to fully dive into the PvE content that comes along with it, as the next raid, Aberrus, as well as a new Mythic+ season, will launch on May 9.
Embers of Neltharion is a hefty patch that will bring about substantial changes to professions, the game’s gearing system, the Mythic+ dungeon pool, as well as its affixes.
The patch hit the PTR in early March and will stay there for the next few weeks until Patch 10.1 goes live on May 2.
