World of Warcraft Dragonflight Patch 10.1 is massive, introducing a new zone called Zaralek Cavern, campaign quests, and loads of cosmetics and achievements to hunt down when you’re not busy with Mythic+ dungeons or Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. One of the items you will need to obtain, especially if you’re interested in upgrading your equipment, is Flightstones.
Introduced with Patch 10.1, Flightstones is the currency obtained by completing any type of PvE content and this includes quests, Mythic+ dungeons, and raids. This currency is replacing Valor in Dragonflight season two and when paired with Shadowflame Crests it can increase the item level of your gear up to item level 443.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Flightstones.
What are Flightstones in WoW Dragonflight?
Simply put, Flightstones are a form of currency that can be earned and used to upgrade Dragonflight season two PvE equipment during the season. This means the Flightstones used to upgrade season two PvE equipment may differ from what will be needed in season three.
If you want to upgrade your season two equipment, you must get Flightstones. Thankfully, you can get Flightstones in various ways, including via dungeons, raids, world quests, and weekly events. And you’ll get more for completing content with a higher-difficulty level.
Available from the beginning of Embers of Neltharion, the Flighstones currency is used to upgrade various gear—Explorer, Adventures, Veteran, Champion, and Hero. Each type of gear can be upgraded up to a certain level and once you reach the threshold, you’ll need to switch to the next type of gear. The first couple of upgrades will only cost you Flightstones, but as item level increases, you’ll need Shadowflame Crests too.
How to get Flightstones in Wow Dragonflight
Getting Flightstones in Embers of Neltharion is relatively easy. All you need to do is complete any type of PvE content. This includes completing world quests, regular quests, Mythic+ dungeons, and raids. But the more challenging content you complete like high Mythic+ keys or Heroic raid, the more Flightstones you’ll get. In addition to that, the high-end content will drop Shadowflame Crests, a currency you’ll need to upgrade your gear to higher item levels.
