The Earthen Allied Race is the newest playable race that’s been added in World of Warcraft: The War Within. While many have been very eager to become this new WoW race, there’s actually a whole lot of requirements to get them—a block that’s left most players confused after the expansion released.
Here’s what you need to do in Khaz Algar to unlock the Earthen.
How to unlock the Earthen Allied Race in The War Within
To unlock the Earthen Allied Race in The War Within, you must complete the following four requirements: The War Within storyline, Broken Tools, Mourning Rise, and Merrix and Steelvein.
1) The War Within storyline
At the time of writing, the complete The War Within campaign hasn’t been released. However, in a post from Kaivax, a WoW community manager, on Aug. 27, they revealed the fourth storyline for The War Within campaign (the one needed to unlock the Earthen race), would be released on Sept. 3. So, once you complete the fourth storyline, you’ll unlock The War Within campaign requirement for the Earthen.
2) Broken Tools questline
The Broken Tools questline, which only has three quests, can be started with the Discarded and Broken quest, which you get from Machinist Kittrin in The Ringing Deeps at the coordinates 48 and 33. As soon as you’ve finished all three quests, you’ll have completed the Broken Tools requirement for unlocking the Earthen race.
3) Mourning Rise questline
The Mourning Rise questline begins with the quest Before I Depart, which you can pick up from Korgran, just east of Dornogal, at coordinates 57 and 43. When you finish this entire War Within quest chain—there are 17 all up—you’ll officially have completed the Mourning Rise quest requirement for the Earthen race.
4) Merrix and Steelvein
Merrix and Steelvein is part of the Behind Closed Doors questline. This questline can be started with the How Scandalous! quest from Aldra in Dornogal at the coordinates 62 and 21. But, as soon as you’ve finished the Behind Closed Doors questline, you’ll have completed the Merrix and Steelvein requirement for unlocking the new Earthen race.
