Riot character producer John Goscicki shared a video on Feb. 20, detailing what the devs have in store for VALORANT this year. He confirmed three new agents are set to be released in 2023—and he even gave an extremely brief teaser for the next character joining the game.

Finally, the new agent was fully revealed as Gekko prior to the grand final of VCT LOCK//IN, and officially debuted in an exciting showmatch. Here’s everything you need to know about Gekko.

New VALORANT Agent Gekko: All Agent 22 details

Goscicki briefly talked about the new agent at the end of the State of the Agents video posted on Feb. 20.

“Soon, Agent 22 will be joining the fight, bringing their own eclectic way to deal with situations, new ways to check corners, get onto locations, [and] plant the spike,” Goscicki said. “The battlefield can be a super stressful place. … Sometimes, you just need some friends with you, chilling with you as you walk down a path to the next bomb site.”

All Gekko abilities

Gekko plays the initiator role, and his kit makes use of multiple creatures named after his abilities, which he uses to flash, detain, and concuss enemies.

Dizzy (E)

Gekko equips Dizzy and fires it to soar through the air. Dizzy charges and then unleashes plasma blasts at enemies in line of sight. Enemies hit by her plasma are blinded.

When Dizzy expires, she reverts into a dormant globule which can be picked up by Gekko for another charge of Dizzy after a short cooldown.

Wingman (Q)

Gekko equips Wingman and fires it seeking enemies. Wingman unleashes a concussive blast toward the first enemy he sees.

Gekko can use alternate fire to send Wingman out to either defuse the Spike or plant the Spike. Gekko must have the Spike in his inventory to use Wingman as the planter. Gekko can retrieve Wingman after a short cooldown.

Mosh Pit (C)

Gekko equips Mosh Pit and can throw the projectile underhand with alternate fire or throw normally using regular fire.

Mosh duplicates upon landing and explodes after a short delay across a wide area, most similar to a KAY/O grenade.

Thrash (X)

Gekko equips Thrash and steers her toward the enemies. Activate to lunge and explode, which detains enemies. After Thrash expires, she can be picked up to gain another charge after a short cooldown to be used once more.
