Four years after its original PC launch, VALORANT is finally available on new generation consoles. This does, however, raise the important question of whether there is cross-play and cross-progression between the two platforms.

Cross-play and cross-progression are crucial aspects to consider when a developer introduces a game to a new platform, especially with VALORANT, which was built to be a PC title through and through. With new systems being put into place to allow console players to thrive, there needs to be some level of parity between both PC and console players.

Additionally, some players may want to try out the console version of VALORANT without having to rebuild the extensive collection of cosmetics they’ve amassed over the countless hours spent on the PC version of the game. So, here’s everything you need to know about VALORANT’s cross-play capabilities and cross-progression between its eligible platforms.

If you’re a PC player hoping to play with your newly introduced console friend, you’re out of luck. VALORANT doesn’t support cross-play between PC and console, forcing all PlayStation and Xbox players to compete among themselves while PC players stick to their own community.

Riot made this decision to maintain competitive integrity since PC and console players have different strengths and weaknesses that those on opposite platforms can exploit.

Is there cross-progression in VALORANT?

If you’re trying to become the best player on both PC and console platforms, however, you might be happy to know that VALORANT supports cross-progression.

You can access a shared, connected inventory system for all your VALORANT accounts, meaning PC players with plenty of skins and a high level can continue their grind with their precious cosmetics if they decide to try the game on console.
