Like several rivals, Envy revealed its VALORANT roster, which includes several former Counter-Strike pros.
The lineup features five former Counter-Strike:Global Offensive players who, for the past several months, have been playing VALORANT together under the name Together We Are Terrific. Envy’s new team includes Adam “aKis” Kisseberth, Anthony “mummAy” DiPaolo, Pujan “FNS” Mehta, Abdo “c4Lypso” Agha, and Jake “kaboose” McDonald.
Together We Are Terrific first made a name for themselves competing at the T1 x Nerd Street Gaming VALORANT Showdown in June, where they achieved a 2-1 record in the group stage, tying with the FaZe Clan. They were ultimately defeated in the quarterfinals by TSM in a three-gmae match, but they looked strong throughout the tournament.
aKis started his professional gaming career in 2015, playing CS:GO for Elevate, a small American organization that primarily competed in second-tier tournaments. After a couple months at Elevate, he bounced around to various teams, including Muffin Lightning where he played with Ryan “fREAKAZOiD” Abadir and other future members of Swole Patrol.
MummAy played CS:GO for Rush, Pnda Gaming, and other small semi-professional teams, while c4Lypso played CS:GO with LiVid Gaming, Armada Esports, and other lower-tier teams before switching over the VALORANT full-time in May. Both players have proven highly-effective VALORANT competitors, despite having less experience than the other players who comprise Envy’s new roster.
During his CS:GO career, FNS competed for some major teams, including Cloud9, CLG, and Complexity. Of all the players on Envy’s new roster, FNS brings the most experience in tactical shooters at the highest levels. Kaboose also brings a significant amount of experience, having played with Selfless Gaming, Swole Patrol, and others before retiring from CS:GO.
Envy is the latest of more than a dozen major esports organizations who have announced their VALORANT squads. 100 Thieves, Team Liquid, and many others have joined the field in pursuit of VALORANT glory.
