The Magic n’ Mayhem TFT Set 12 set is very different from Inkborn Fables, and that’s to its benefit. It’s also slightly more complicated with the addition of the Charm mechanic. Charms are awesome, but the added decision-making had me dizzy plenty of times during PBE testing. The set also includes 60 champions instead of 59. Over 100 Augments were added, and several verticle traits are worth playing at launch. This article covers everything you need to know about TFT Set 12 and will have you ready to play when Patch 14.15 goes live on July 31.

Charms in TFT Set 12 are effects much like Augments but most only last one player round and are purchased through the Shop, not chosen through an Armory.

  • Every other roll-down will have a Charm appear in the last slot of the Shop, taking away one possible champion.
  • To prevent a loss of a champion slot when rolling down for a Reroll comp, purchase a Charm to prevent more from showing up.
  • Charm effects scale in power through the Stages of a game, as does the cost.
  • Four tiers of Charms exist with rolling odds as to when players can expect to see them.

Many players, including myself, are excited about mana changes made in TFT Set 12, where mana banking works. In past sets, any extra mana disappeared when the mana of a champion reset. Now it rolls over, which is what mana banking is. Items like Spear of Shojin are great for mana banking. A name change was applied to damage reduction, now called durability. And damage amp, or amplification, is now evergreen.

The balance team also made a few significant bag changes, affecting shop odds and bag sizes.

  • One-cost bag size: Increased from 22 to 30
  • Two-cost bag size: Increased from 20 to 25
  • Three-cost bag size: Increased from 17 to 18

No changes were applied to four and five-cost bag sizes.

From the release of Set 12 on the PBE servers through the live launch of TFT Magic n’ Mayhem, seven PBE patch notes were dropped. Champions, traits, Charms, and Augments all received adjustments. But unlike Set 11, no major bombs dropped during PBE testing. All TFT Set 12 Dot Esports cheat sheets and guides will have updated stats for abilities and effects when the set goes live through Patch 14.15.

TFT Patch 14.15 notes

Set 12 balance will mostly remain the same from the PBE to the live server release, except for adjustments added through an A-patch.

“There will be an A-patch to address SOME of the issues, but not everything can be adjusted, so don’t expect any massive changes,” game designer Mortdog said on his July 28 stream.

Here are the A-patch notes for TFT Set 12.
