It’s only been about a month since Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm took an indefinite hiatus from the internet after admitting to “inappropriate” messages with a minor, but the popular streamer suddenly broke his silence today with a surprise post on social media.

On July 31, Beahm posted a photo of himself sitting across from the viewer with a game board in the middle, with his side fitted with chess pieces and the viewer’s side with checkers pieces. It was a clear message: He’s playing chess while the world is playing checkers. The immediate responses were split between his stalwart fan base and many critics across the internet, from those cheering him on and asking for his return to those wondering why he has even bothered coming back. It has only been about a month since he stepped away from the spotlight, but now, it looks like he’s gearing up for another return.

The 42-year-old content creator stepped away from streaming after allegations surfaced around his permanent ban off Twitch, where he was accused of exchanging sexually explicit messages with a minor through Twitch’s Whisper DMs. The entire situation sparked a wildfire of speculation and rumors that went largely unaddressed until Beahm’s removal from Midnight Society, the game studio he helped found.

Eventually, the popular streamer admitted in a social media post that he did send messages to a minor that “leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate.” He also took responsibility for his actions “from a moral standpoint,” but stayed adamant that he wasn’t a predator because there weren’t any true intentions behind the messages.

After his admission, many of Beahm’s followers began to change tone, showing disappointment and distaste at the streamer’s actions, especially because he has a wife and daughter. There are, however, many Dr Disrespect fans still supporting the streamer after the situation, as seen by the droves of people in the replies of his new post.

It isn’t known what plans Dr Disrespect has for the future, but he has made it known that he won’t be leaving any time soon.
