Is Dr Disrespect moving to Kick?

Is that offer still available?

After almost a month of radio silence on social media, Herschel Beahm IV, known as Dr Disrespect, shared an image of a chess board on his X profile. While the meaning isn’t explicitly clear, some fans have interpreted it as a hidden message suggesting he’s moving to streaming platform Kick.

It might seem like a stretch, but here’s what we know about whether Dr Disrespect is moving to Kick.

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether Dr Disrespect is moving to Kick, but it seems unlikely. Dr Disrespect’s July 31 post to X, formerly Twitter, shows a chess board with a blurred figure—presumably himself—posing in front of it.

The camera is positioned in a way that suggests the viewer is Dr Disrespect’s opponent, and he’s waiting for us to make a move. The most notable thing about the photo is that Dr. Disrespect is playing with chess pieces while the viewer is playing with checkers pieces.

Some fans think this is Dr Disrespect’s way of telling us he’s playing a more advanced (and more intelligent) game than us, or that he’s simply moving to something bigger—like a new streaming platform. Given neither YouTube nor Twitch seems willing to work with him, Kick might seem like the only bastion of hope for Dr Disrespect to continue his streaming career.

Most comments, though, continue to lambast Dr Disrespect for the allegations surrounding his ban from Twitch, which included him admitting to sending “inappropriate messages” to a minor. Following the allegations in June, the controversial streamer went radio silent. While Dr Disrespect responded to some comments in the post, none confirmed whether he was moving to Kick.

Why Dr Disrespect moving to Kick seems unlikely

After the June controversy, Dr Disrespect lost lots of followers and sponsors. He was even dropped by his studio, Midnight Society. Given these circumstances, it seems unlikely Kick would be willing to work with the 42-year-old Streamer in the near future.

On May 29, Dr Disrespect revealed on stream that he was offered $10 million a year to move to Kick but ultimately refused, stating: “It’s just not enough.” While a fresh start on Kick could be a fresh start for the content creator, we’re doubtful the platform will want to associate with him.
