How to find Item IDs
If you’re not as interested in changing your Skills, Traits, or Background, you might want to grant yourself access to any item in the game with a simple console command. Of course, first you’ll need to know how to open your console.
How to open the console
To open your console commands, all you have to do is press the tilde ‘~‘ key while in your game. It’s important to note that using console commands will disable all achievements for the game as this is considered cheating. However, it’s your playthrough.
To find any item ID, you’ll want to do the following:
- Open your console commands with the tilde ‘~‘ key
- Type “help [item name]“
- Copy the sequence of numbers that appear
- Type “player.additem (Item ID) (Value)“
- Collect your newly spawned item(s)
If, for example, you want three Microguns you’d type, “player.additem 546CD 3” and presto! Three Microguns will appear for you.
If you’re having trouble finding the right item ID, you can also use the command “help [item name] 4 [form type].” This allows you to be more specific in your search. For example, it will let you parse weapons specifically if you use the form type “WEAP.”
Here are some form types that you might find useful:
- AMMO — Ammo
- ARMO — Armor and clothing
- ALCH — Food and drink
- BOOK — Books, Skill Magazines, and Notes
- FACT — Factions
- MISC — Miscellaneous
- NPC_ — NPCs
- KEYM — Keys
- OMOD — Item mods
- PERK — Skills, Traits, Backgrounds
- QUST — Quests
- SPEL — Status Effects
- WEAP — Weapons
- GBFM — Ships
While you may have your personal reasons for acquiring whatever items you want through the use of IDs, we think weapon IDs and armor IDs are some of the most useful ones to have access to.
