Spider-Man 2 developers are preparing a flag patch after fans spotted a huge error hanging inside Miles Morales’ home just days into the launch of the title.
Marvel fans will know one of the two Spider-Mans in the title, Miles Morales, is of Puerto Rican descent, and Spider-Man 2 does a solid job of honoring this and proudly showcasing it throughout the game. That being the case, there was one slip-up.
Inside Miles’ home, players will find a flag, however, it isn’t a Puerto Rican flag. Instead, this flag is clearly Cuban. Of course, when players discovered this and brought it to the attention of the dev team they quickly jumped on the case.

An update is in the works that will swap this flag out for the correct one, according to a Spider-Man 2 team member. Given the quick response, it’s clear this flag was only included by mistake and should be fixed in the near future. Still, no date was given for the change.
Both the Cuban and Puerto Rican flags use the same design, though they differ in the arrangement of the colors, so it’s not that much of a stretch to see how the devs accidentally made the flag mistake here. Still, given the significance Miles’ heritage plays in his Spider-Man story, making things right is necessary.
In the meantime, players can rep the Puerto Rican flag proudly by rocking the Boricua Spider-Suit as they swing through New York City.
Spider-Man 2 has already cemented itself as the biggest PlayStation Studios hit to date, and in doing this the game has avoided many big issues. Outside of an installation problem plaguing disc users, and this particular flag mixup, things have been extremely smooth for Sony with this launch.
Thanks to the great shape the game was released in, and the massive popularity of Spider-Man as a franchise, this record-breaking title is looking to only get better with updates.
