After months of anticipation and watching the game from afar, Xbox One players can finally get their hands on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds starting today.
PUBG is in the Xbox Game Preview program and is now available to purchase on Xbox Live for $29.99. It’s important to note that the Game Preview Program is quite similar to Steam’s Early Access, meaning that the game is a work in progress and is not finished.

Bluehole’s plan is to continue to test out multiple facets of the game and roll them out onto the console version at a later date. For example, the new desert map Miramar is scheduled to reach Xbox One some time in early 2018.
Currently, the Xbox One version only features third person gameplay, as well. The popular first-person perspective mode will be added at a later date that has yet to be announced.
Overall, PUBG on Xbox One is a pretty faithful port of the PC version, with a control scheme that takes some getting used to but does a solid job of translating to a controller. The framerate can be a bit problematic as the Xbox One version is quite choppy at times. It’s especially obvious to those who might have watched or played the game on PC and experienced it at over 100 FPS.
This is an exciting day for Xbox One owners and those who have been unable to play PUBG on PC this year, as they can finally learn what the hype is all about.
