Evolution stones like the Water Stone are the only way to evolve certain Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. If you have an Eevee and can’t wait to get your hands on Vaporeon, or maybe you’re just trying to figure out if a Water Pokémon you found can evolve with this item, you’ll want the Water Stone as soon as possible.

There are two ways of getting a Water Stone: finding or buying it. As you can expect, buying it is faster and easier than finding it—don’t worry, it’s cheap, and you’ll probably be able to afford it when you unlock the shop that sells it.

Here’s everything about Water Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to get Water Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The best place to find Water Stones is in Mesagoza, at Delibird Presents under the General Goods option for 3,000 Pokédollars. I got that amount of money very early into the game, so it should be easy for you to get that as well after a few trainer fights.

As you enter the city from the south, head east before the big stairway, and you’ll find a store immediately on the left-hand side of the road, as circled on the image below. The store has a cute Delibird on its sign. Therein lies your Water Stone vendor. You can find Delibird Presents in Levincia and Cascaraffa, but I personally prefer to go to Mesagoza as it’s the main city in Scarlet and Violet and is easier to find.

You can also buy other evolution stones there, such as Fire and Thunder Stones.

However, this option is locked until you earn any three badges from gyms on the Victory Road path. If you don’t have the funds or haven’t got enough badges yet, there are other places you can search.

Another place to look is behind the gym in Cascarrafa. There are Water Stones usually hiding behind that area. You can also find it on the ground near a lake west of South Province Area Four.
